We are proud of the work we do and the relationships we build.

Our projects bring clean energy, economic development and jobs to some of the most remote communities in Western Canada.

While some of the projects we work on are connected to the BC Hydro electric grid, others are in remote locations where they displace diesel-generated electricity. Look at our portfolio to see some of our recent projects.

Barkley Project Group was established in Nanaimo, BC. In our initial years, we primarily focused on small-scale hydro projects. We have since expanded our expertise to include solar, wind, biomass, tidal and geothermal energy. This map highlights some feature projects throughout our 20 years of operations.

We are proud of the relationships we build with our clients. We advocate for Indigenous ownership of the projects we are involved with as project managers.

We take a community-centric approach—there is no project too small or too big. Capacity building through custom-built training and employment programs is a core aspect of our organization. Barkley Project Group provides technical and administrative capacity for Indigenous-led sustainable development initiatives to thrive.

Why we are different

Engineering and consulting firms typically concentrate on one or two aspects of renewable energy development or community energy systems. We build and lead project teams with the expertise needed for each stage of development. We are one company that can deliver your entire project.
