From June 18th to 20th, the 9th Indigenous Resource Opportunities Conference (IROC) will bring together leaders and partners at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo, BC. This First Nations-led event aims to foster meaningful and equitable partnerships that support Indigenous-led economic participation in British Columbia’s natural resource sector.
We’re thrilled to share that Yuho Okada, MBA; Mary Vasey, B.Sc., M.Eng., PMP, CEM; and Erin Quon, P. Eng., from Barkley Project Group, will be attending IROC 2025. Mary, Project Manager at Barkley Project Group, will be a featured speaker during the Partnership Showcase on June 19. She will present alongside Kara Wilson, Community Energy Champion for the Quatsino First Nation, highlighting the Quatsino Solar Project. This initiative aims to install a combined 150 kWp of solar photovoltaic capacity across three community buildings, generating approximately 130,000 kWh annually. The project is expected to enhance community resilience by reducing operating costs and providing renewable energy solutions.

Erin will be hosting our booth and looks forward to meeting you and hearing about your nation’s clean energy or infrastructure goals. For more information about the conference program and to register, please visit the IROC official website.
We look forward to engaging with fellow attendees and sharing knowledge on advancing Indigenous-led resource opportunities.
See you there!
