Honouring the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – September 30, 2025

This September 30, we join communities across Canada in recognizing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a time dedicated to listening, learning, and taking meaningful action toward healing and understanding.

On Tuesday, September 30, we honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to recognize and remember the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and their communities. This day is an opportunity for reflection, learning, and action as we continue our shared journey toward truth and reconciliation.

To commemorate this important occasion, we have compiled a list of events taking place across British Columbia, Alberta, and New Brunswick, where many of our team members live and work. These gatherings provide opportunities to hear from Survivors, engage in meaningful acts of remembrance and support their communities.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Events – 2025

While various events will take place throughout the week, our list focuses on Tuesday, September 30, to help you find ways to get involved on this special day of remembrance and learning.

Whether you choose to attend a local event, listen to Indigenous voices, read the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, or participate in community dialogue, every action contributes to building a future grounded in respect and understanding.

To deepen your understanding and access valuable resources, we encourage you to visit the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation and the Orange Shirt Society, two hubs for learning about the history of residential schools and exploring educational tools to support Indigenous communities.
